Arise! Shine! Wake Up & Thank God for the Warnings…

trumpetsThere is, in our modern materialistic western society, a way to “tune out” what you don’t want to hear and even go to church only to hear what you want to hear. It creates a bubble of false security that often denies that any hard times are coming. Then when someone prophetically blows the trumpet warning call, they are called a heretic or false prophet, claiming that the role of the prophet is not the same in the NT.

I am in full agreement that we need to preach LOVE, release LOVE and introduce people to LOVE. But that LOVE is often misrepresented as only a “bed of roses” once we get saved. On the contrary, while the LOVE of God fills us and brings us unexplainable peace & joy, we enter a war zone with the enemy. And we must teach that we were not given a spirit of fear, and that we have the Father’s direction in all things. We have the ability to hear His voice and be led in the way that is right. Instead, we say it’s not LOVE if we even mention that there is any hint of evil that we may come up against. But LOVE will warn you, LOVE will guide you, LOVE nailed Jesus to a cross for the greater good of all.

My prayer is that the church come out of this “bubble” and begin praying like never before, consciously releasing the Kingdom of God everywhere, and teaching a balanced Christianity of Word and Spirit so we are prepared for what is yet to come. The world is under the control of the evil one… the ruler of the air… and we’re foolish if we don’t teach people how to stand in the face of evil (or if we teach them that the evil in the earth is lessening with time). On the contrary, the greatest manifestation of evil and the greatest manifestation of God’s power both remain to be seen… they will both increase as the end nears… but the Kingdom of God (within us) will triumph over all evil. Even death can’t have us. But we can’t pretend evil doesn’t exist.

The Lord is faithful to warn us day by day and step by step to divert the plans of enemy. Why would we be upset about that?

1 John 5:19-21
We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

Ephesians 2:1-2
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

2 Tim 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Eph 6:12-13
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

2 Peter 1:3-4
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

2 Peter 1:19-21
We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 5:8-10
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

All of this pondering of mine has come as a result of a recent prophetic warning from Rick Joyner, and some subsequent responses to it I’ve witnessed on facebook from well known, influential ministers.

Here is my original post from facebook:

“Urgent message from Rick Joyner today from a dream he had last night. Also a link to another dream he had a few weeks ago about Heaven on earth. This same message was in my Spirit this morning and it resulted in my previous status. I also reposted a blog recently of a dream I had in June 2013. The Lord is speaking church! WE MUST PRAY FOR OUR GOVERNMENT LEADERS AND THE PROTECTION OF OUR NATION! See links to all below…

Today’s dream from Rick:

Previous dream of Heaven on Earth:

What I said in my facebook status just hours before hearing the warning from Rick Joyner:
I believe we carry the Kingdom of God and are called to release it everywhere we go as a witness to all nations. We can bring heaven to earth in various situations every day. The demonstration of heaven on earth will indeed increase as lawlessness abounds, and multitudes will come to know Him and be saved, but it won’t be a pretty process in the natural. As the end nears, the Kingdom of God will increase on the earth, and lawlessness will also increase. Both will be undeniable and presented to the entire world. There will be no denying that a choice must be made. It will be beautiful in the Spirit as many become new creations in midst of desperation! Humankind has more often needed to become desperate to turn to God than not. That desperation will lead to the beautiful transformation of many!

Matt 24:3-13
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

There is much controversy over Rick Joyner’s prophetic warning today. Many (even well respected ministers) are saying that the role of the prophet changed in the NT. I don’t agree.

In my own research I found the prophet who gave Paul a not very encouraging word in Acts 11 where a prophet warned about a famine and the disciples responded by sending gifts… “27During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.) 29The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. 30This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.”

And in Acts 20 – Paul gets a word from the Lord for himself that is not pleasant…he then has the option to obey or not and go to Jerusalem..and now prepared for what was coming, he went… “And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me. 24“But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.”

And in Acts 21…it was a warning to Paul. He chose to go anyway which was his to determine the leading of the Lord for him, but I do believe that prophets today are also called to warn when there is prayer or other choices that can prevent whatever is being warned about. “10After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’” 12When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. 13Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.””

I personally do not see any evidence that the role of the prophet changed from OT to NT. Jesus himself was called a prophet and forewarned many unpleasant things. A warning gives mankind a chance to intercede, repent or whatever is needed to prevent a potential outcome. To me that is Papa’s love to advise us!

If a parent has a dream or is it is revealed prophetically by Father God that their child is at risk of being killed in a car accident on a certain road, OUT OF LOVE the parent will warn the child. They will be very serious when they tell them, and it may even cause a sense of fear to try and rise up. But this is why it’s important to understand the loving heart of the Father. The warning gives the child an opportunity to 1) not drive on that road and take a different route, 2) not drive at all that day, or 3) use extra caution when driving on that road and be more aware of their surroundings. The warning serves to PREVENT the outcome that was at risk. This is the loving heart of a parent, and this is the loving heart of Father God when prophetic warnings come.
