Don’t Be Surprised by the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites…

I am so thankful God got my attention back on January 31, 1999. While He didn’t use a burning bush like He did with Moses, He knew what He needed to do to get through to me.

As I watch this animated video below, I am relating to Moses:

Who am I that you would choose me, Lord?

What if I do what you tell me to do and no one believes or receives me?

What am I supposed to tell people?

Like Moses, you may second guess God choosing you, but He who called you is faithful. (1 Thess 5:24) This is also a powerful reminder that many times the enemy will not let us go “except under heavy pressure.” And God allows this and even hardens people’s hearts as a part of His process. Remember… God is multi-tasking and doing an inward work in you as well as dealing with your outward circumstances.

And finally, we must remember that as we trust God and are eventually released from the hands of the enemy to walk in our destiny, while we will one day find that land filled w/milk & honey, we are also guaranteed to encounter Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (or whatever “ites” tend to plague your life.)

Don’t be looking for an easy road. Just be looking for God’s road. While it may seem scary, it’s the safest path out there. You may reach points where it seems impossible with the Red Sea in front of you and the enemy on your heels…. But God.

I’m overwhelmed with gratitude this morning knowing that I’m on His path for my life. Any difficulty or discomfort along the way will not move me. He is perfecting the things that concern me (Ps 138:8) and will turn all things for good (Rom 8:28) because I love Him and am called according to His purpose.

Enjoy this short video clip and have a JESUS-FILLED day!

Scripture reference: Exodus 3

Joshua 1:5-9
No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
